Beginner Version – Yankee Doodle Lead – Slow Speed

If you follow the Guitar Pro or the PDF file of this song in the lesson plan, it should be played just like this. This video is very true to the notation or tablature that is in the lesson.

I didn’t want to play this song too slow as it would be easy to “lose” the song at a slower playing speed. If you wish to start out slower than this video, I suggest you load the Guitar Pro File of Yankee Doodle. You can then set the speed to your liking and use the Guitar Pro Speed Trainer to gain additional tempo speed.

Some things to watch in this video. Be sure to practice extra hard on the “triads” or the three note chords on this song. Integrate them into the music and make them sound smoothly within the music.

Also, you should be aware that there are a few extra or “fill-in” notes on this song. These are used to give the song more depth and interest. Can you pick them out? Be sure to download the PDF lesson materials and utilize the Guitar Pro file as part of this lesson to receive the full benefit.

The next video of this song is played at a medium speed. The song gets quite a bit more difficult at this speed and you have to have it very will practiced to do it at this tempo.
