After you download it you can open the file with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Make sure you have v6.0 or above. This is a free download and is available for both PC and Mac. Need to download this program. Here is a link where you can download a free copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If it comes up with the MacOS operating system, just click on the link –different operating system? and you can get it for PC too.

The reason you should have v6.0 or above is v6 is the first version that supports layers in pdf files and our Tab Notes are written in layers.

So if you have Reader v6.0 or probably v9.0 if downloaded the most recent version, just open the pdf file. Go to the top menu and select: View>Navagation Panels>Layers. This will bring a layers icon on the left-side tool bar. Now just click on the Layers Icon and you will see the file come up on the right side. Just click on the finle name and you will see 2 layers. One will say “Tab Notes” and the other just says “Layer 1″.

  • Layer 1 contains the musical score
  • Tab Notes contains the notes overlay that you can switch on and off.
  • Feel free to print one or both of these sheet and the text file if you like too. Put them in a 3-ring binder and you can save your Lessons for later review and reference.

    The Lesson Score File Contains:

  • The notes of the song. In the upper diagram the song will be shown almost as it would in regular sheet music.
  • The second diagram shows the song with our Tab Notes Teacher layer turned on. This gives you useful tips, timing, explainations etc. to help you in your learning process.
  • At the bottom of each of the Lesson Pages you will see 3 linked texts. These are direct links to:

  • The pdf file for the Text and Tab Notes pages
  • The Guitar Pro File, which is the actual music file used to generate this song. To read more on this exciting portion of our lesson method go to our article on Guitar Pro Software.
  • The Third link will take you back to the Text portion of the Lesson.
