Beginner Version – Frere Jacques – Slow Speed

If you follow the Guitar Pro or the PDF file of this song in the lesson plan, it should be played just like this. This video is very true to the notation or tablature that is in the lesson.

I didn’t want to play this song too slow as it would be easy to “lose” the song at a slower playing speed. If you wish to start out slower than this video, I suggest you load the Guitar Pro File of Frere Jacques. You can then set the speed to your liking and use the Guitar Pro Speed Trainer to gain additional tempo speed.

Some things to watch in this video. The most import thing to learn for this lesson is playing the second part of the song in the second position. Notice how the hand shifts about half way through the video from starting with the first finger on the first fret to the first finger starting on the third fret. This is why this is called the 3rd position – you play from the 3rd to the 5th or 6th frets.

The next video of this song is played at a medium speed. The song gets quite a bit more difficult at this speed and you have to have it very will practiced to do it at this tempo.
