Ultimate Kids Guitar Lessons – Lessons Geared Just For Kids
Source: About Me
Hi, I’m David and I have a passion for the guitar. This includes teaching, repairing, making guitars and now writing about them. I’ve had a life-long affiliation with music and do not regret one single moment of that. After all, music brings me joy, excitement, great experiences and lots and lots of fulfillment to my life. I started playing when I was 12 years old and was “hooked” ever since.
Giving music lessons put me through college as my parents couldn’t afford to send me, let alone pay for the necessities. So I worked day and night, came home and taught on the weekends, during breaks etc. It was hard work but again it was very fulfilling and gave me a real since of accomplishment.
During this time I got heavily into Classical Guitar and took lessons from Guillermo Fierens, who was an understudy of Andres Segovia. At the same time I was really into the music of Merle Travis, Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins – odd combination huh?
My father took up the vocation of a guitar maker (Luither is the correct term) and he had a ball making guitars, as did I, as I helped him countless hours. Again-full immersion in the music field – it felt great.
I took a hiatus when I started working at my major full-time an music all-of-a-sudden became a hobby and not a vocation. That was OK too, as I was still involved in music.
What I learned is by teaching young kids to play is some of the most rewarding work a music teacher can have. It takes a special talent and patience to do this, but to form these young kids and point them in the direction of a musical career or a passionate hobby meant a lot to me.
So here we are many years later and I’m reverting back to my first love. The love of music, the love of teaching and the love of sharing my talent with all the kids out there.
I hope you and your children enjoy these lessons as much as I have teaching my daughter and creating them.
